Ed Moses- Blain|Southern

Ed Moses describes his intuitive relationship with painting as the natural desire to verify his existence through mark making and as such his paintings act as records of momentary gestures. Several of his paintings such as Ocnaf (feature image) are creating by pouring diluted paint down the centre of a water saturated canvas, creating free-flowing fusions of colour. I found Moses’s way of verifying his existence interesting, I have been experimenting with ways of recording data about my own existence and others and I like the lack of control in has in his process of making. “His decisions are instinctive rather than calculated”.
