Documenting human presence

Took inspiration from Mary Ramsden’s exhibition ‘Swipe’ in which she made paintings based on the shiny slicks of grease we leave swiped across phone screens.  I liked the idea of using people finger prints because they are very personal and specific to certain people.

  • Absence of the body- left trace
  • marking time
  • left traces that linger
  • removed at the end of the day when the glass is cleaned

Similar to Lydia Gifford’s  work in how she documents body movement and the imprint that is left in paint.
