Marie Lund- ‘Hand Full’

Marie Lund is interested in the stories objects can tell, the imprints and record of exposure left inscribed on an object by its previous life. ‘Hand full’ is bronze cast of the artists trouser pockets- they show a space that we all know but the purpose is now forgot ton and all that is left is an echo, a memory of a previous life.

I am Interested in the idea that it’s the artists pockets where she keeps personal items and it is now on display, it doesn’t give intimate details about the artist away but it still feels intimate to the artist. This is what i am trying to achieve in my work, sculptures that contain a memory of myself, a trace so that when the sculptures are handled the person feels a proximity to myself but without me being there- an absence of the body.
