Song Dong ‘A pot of boiling water’ 1995

Song Dong-Tate Modern Exhibition

The works of Chinese artist Song Dong show the temporary nature of the marks left by our actions and presence in the world, exploring the seemingly trivial fragments of everyday life.

I was interested in song dongs work due to him documenting marks left by out actions in his work that links well with what i am trying to do with my sculptures. But recently i have been looking into different ways of documenting my work with the materials that don’t leave a trace of my imprint in the objects, much like ‘A pot of boiling water’ where the only trace left of it is through photographic documentation.
